1 EXT. SKID ROW – DAY
1
Moe walks down a grimy street, passing homeless people and addicts. He enters a run-down shelter.
2 INT. HOMELESS SHELTER – CONTINUOUS
2
Moe meets with a HOMELESS MAN (60s, weathered).
HOMELESS MAN
They're disappearing, Mr. Juarez. My friends... Someone's taking them.
MOE
(nodding grimly)
I'll look into it.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
See, that's what made Snake-Eyes different. He gave a shit about the people nobody else cared about.
3 MONTAGE - MOE'S INVESTIGATIONS
3
- Moe tailing suspects in upscale neighborhoods
- Moe interviewing witnesses in seedy bars
- Moe piecing together clues on a large corkboard in his office
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
But no matter who was payin', Snake-Eyes always dug deep. 'Cause in this city, the truth is always buried under layers of bullshit.
4 INT. POLICE STATION – DAY
4
Moe stands toe-to-toe with a gruff POLICE CAPTAIN (50s, buzz cut).
POLICE CAPTAIN
Stay out of this, Juarez. You're in over your head.
MOE
(smirking)
Wouldn't be the first time, Captain.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
Snake-Eyes didn't give a fuck about badges or titles. If you were dirty, he was comin' for you.
5 EXT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – NIGHT
5
Moe creeps along the side of the building, gun drawn. He peers through a dirty window.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
And sometimes, gettin' to the truth meant puttin' his ass on the line.
6 INT. ABANDONED WAREHOUSE – CONTINUOUS
6
Moe bursts in, surprising a group of CORRUPT COPS and CRIMINALS mid-deal.
MOE
LAPD! Everybody freeze!
CHAOS erupts. Gunshots ring out. Moe dives for cover.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
But Snake-Eyes could handle himself in a scrap. He wasn't no punk-ass rookie.
Moe returns fire, taking down several assailants. He tackles the ringleader, DETECTIVE BARNES (40s, crooked cop).
MOE
(cuffing Barnes)
You're done, Barnes. Hope you like prison food.
7 EXT. WAREHOUSE – LATER
7
Police cars and ambulances surround the area. Moe watches as Barnes and the others are led away in cuffs.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
With each case, Snake-Eyes' rep grew. Soon, he was the go-to guy for anyone with a problem the cops couldn't - or wouldn't - solve.
8 INT. UPSCALE RESTAURANT – NIGHT
8
Moe sits across from a nervous CITY COUNCILMAN (50s, sweating).
CITY COUNCILMAN
(whispering)
They're blackmailing me, Mr. Juarez. If this gets out, I'm finished.
MOE
Tell me everything.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
But the bigger the cases got, the more dangerous Snake-Eyes' life became.
9 EXT. MOE'S APARTMENT – NIGHT
9
Moe approaches his door, then notices it's slightly ajar. He draws his gun and enters cautiously.
10 INT. MOE'S APARTMENT – CONTINUOUS
10
The place has been ransacked. On the wall, written in what looks like blood: "BACK OFF, JUAREZ."
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
See, when you start diggin' up secrets, people gonna try to bury you with 'em.
Moe's jaw clenches as he surveys the damage.
MOE
(to himself)
You want to play rough? Let's play rough.
11 MONTAGE - MOE FIGHTING BACK
11
- Moe installing security cameras around his office and apartment
- Moe at a shooting range, practicing his marksmanship

GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
But Snake-Eyes wasn't about to back down. He'd come too far, seen too much. This city needed him, whether it knew it or not.
12 INT. MOE'S OFFICE – DAY
12
Moe sits at his desk, looking over photos and documents spread out before him. He connects strings on a large corkboard, revealing a complex web of corruption.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
As he dug deeper, Snake-Eyes started to see the big picture. All the cases, all the dirt. it was all connected.
Moe's eyes widen as he makes a crucial connection.
MOE
(to himself)
Holy shit...
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
Snake-Eyes had stumbled onto something big. Something that went all the way to the top.
13 EXT. CITY HALL – DAY
13
Moe stands on the steps, looking up at the imposing building.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
Now he had a choice to make. Walk away and live to see another day, or risk it all to bring down the whole corrupt system.
Moe takes a deep breath, then climbs the steps with determination.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
But that's the thing about Snake-Eyes. He never knew when to quit.
14 INT. CITY HALL - MAYOR'S OFFICE – DAY
14
Moe bursts in, surprising the MAYOR (60s, distinguished) and several ADVISORS.
MOE
Sorry to crash the party, Mr. Mayor. We need to talk.
The Mayor's face pales as Moe drops a thick file on his desk.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
And as Snake-Eyes laid out all the evidence, you could see the fear in their eyes. They knew the jig was up.
FADE TO:
15 EXT. CITY HALL – DAY
15
A press conference. The Mayor is led away in handcuffs as reporters shout questions. Moe watches from the sidelines, a grim satisfaction on his face.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
When the dust settled, half the city's big shots were behind bars. The other half were runnin' scared.
16 INT. MOE'S OFFICE – NIGHT
16
Moe sits at his desk, nursing a drink. The phone rings. He answers.
MOE
Juarez.
INTERCUT WITH:
17 INT. POLICE STATION – NIGHT
17
The Police Captain from earlier is on the other end.
POLICE CAPTAIN
Juarez, we need your help. We've got a situation...
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
And just like that, it was back to business for Snake-Eyes. 'Cause in this city, the streets are always talkin'. And someone's gotta be there to listen.
Moe grabs his coat and heads for the door.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
So if you're ever in trouble, and the cops can't help, you know who to call. Moe "Snake-Eyes" Juarez. The baddest mofo PI in all of L.A.
FADE OUT.
18 EXT. LOS ANGELES SKYLINE - SPRING 1944 – DAY
18
THE SUN RISES OVER THE CITY, GLINTING OFF THE WINDOWS OF TOWERING BANK BUILDINGS.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
In this concrete jungle, money talks. But sometimes, that green starts walkin' right out the fuckin' door.
19 INT. MOE'S OFFICE – DAY
19
MOE SITS BEHIND A CLUTTERED DESK IN HIS CRAMPED OFFICE. A KNOCK AT THE DOOR.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
That's where Snake-Eyes comes in. Moe Juarez, the baddest PI in all of East L.A. When the suits can't handle their shit, they come crawlin' to him.
EDGAR COLEMAN (60S, DISTINGUISHED, IMPECCABLY DRESSED) ENTERS WITHOUT WAITING FOR AN INVITATION.
MOE
(Looking up, surprised) Can I help you?
COLEMAN
Mr. Juarez. Edgar Coleman, California Reserve Bank.
MOE
(raising an eyebrow)
What's a big shot like you doing in my humble office?
COLEMAN
(sitting down, voice lowered)
We have a... delicate situation that requires your utmost discretion.
COLEMAN SLIDES A PLAIN ENVELOPE ACROSS THE DESK. MOE OPENS IT, SCANNING THE CONTENTS.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
Turns out, some punk-ass was skimmin' from the bank. And not just any bank - we're talkin' the California fuckin' Reserve. These suits were shittin' bricks.
MOE
(looking up, frowning)
You've got a mole inside ripping you off? And you need me to get to the bottom of it while keeping things in-house?
COLEMAN
(nodding tersely)
Precisely. As an external investigator, you'll be able to delve into matters unseen while avoiding any unpleasant... public dishonor for the institution.
MOE
(leaning back)
Discretion's my middle name. But it ain't cheap.
COLEMAN
Money is no object. We simply must neutralize this threat by any means necessary.
MOE
(sizing up Coleman)
You've got a deal. No financial rats will be leaving any holes unsniffed on my watch.
GANG MEMBER (V.O.)
Snake-Eyes knew this was his ticket to the big leagues. Time to go undercover and flush out the cashgrabbin' mole.
